Lesson 1

  • In groups students talk about their dream careers.

  • Click on the Indeed link to explore the website and various jobs. Ask students to read through some descriptions to pick a new career. Students may use Kindles and their phones at this stage. 

  • Click on the quiz and ask students to find it on their phones/Kindles. Students do the quiz. Ask higher level students to find a more challenging quiz. 

  • Students explore Indeed again to find a job they would like to do in accordance with the quiz results.

Lesson 2

  • Click on the 5 ways to... and go through the text with students.

  • Ask students to find more advice on the Internet.

  • Talk about your own job interview experience

  • Click on the McDonald's interview questions and go through some of the questions with the whole group.

Lesson 3

  • Ask students to work in groups of three or four. Each student says what job they would like to do. The other two students prepare questions. 

  • Students conduct job interviews in groups of four or five. 2 or 3 interviewers, 1 candidate and 1 camera operator.

  • Students look at recordings and decide how they can improve their performance.

Make sure there is a lot of error correction during workshops - encourage students to make notes. Remember that the above are guidelines only. If you see that students are engaged in one activity and need more time, do not rush to the next task. You may omit some activities.
